Hey guys, we haven’t posted in a while, but that’s because we’ve been busy with work making our “artisan” cables (What!? Everyone bandies about with that term these days!), and also discussing ideas and doing research for new products.
So what’s new then?
First up is our cables! We’ve already got our A-list cable - the DreamVibes Ion cable. But we’re not ones to rest on our laurels and be complacent. We’re always looking at ways to improve our cables, whether it be looking out for better parts or improving our manufacturing process.
Internally, we refer to the DreamVibes Ion as version 3.1. Reminds us of Windows 3.1, but let’s not go there… (I’m showing my age now aren’t I?) However, we’re continually doing research to make better cables, and we think that it’s possible for us to move to Ion V4.0 soon.
What does that mean for you guys?
Well, nothing much really, but we’re thinking of changing a part so that we can manufacture the Ion cables significantly faster. It currently takes a lot of time and effort to make each of them right now, so we’re looking to improve that.
On your end however, you guys probably won’t notice anything much at all, except that you’ll get them faster when you order them.
That can only be a good thing right? =D
The second thing we probably want to update is the SquarePlugs we use for our LNX-SP cables and cables for our custom pedalboard routing. If you haven’t realised, all KMMK plugs (the company behind SquarePlugs) can now be ordered in black!
Why are we excited about this?
Well, you guys probably don’t remember, but the original LNX patch cable had HiCon plugs on them. Those were really good plugs, and they were black too. We love using black plugs on patch cables to get that sleek unobtrusive look. It really allows for a seemingly neater pedalboard because they blend into the shadows of your pedals.
But then SquarePlugs was born and they were so narrow and low profile and fit the Sommer Onyx patch cables so well, we simply had to use them! We actually asked if those could come in black back then but the MOQ (Minimum Order Quantity) was eye-watering, so we passed on it.
But they’re available stock now, take a look!
And we’re so going to take advantage of that when we order our next batch of SquarePlugs and SPS4/SPS5 (straight half-length patch cable plugs)!

Lastly, but definitely not the least, is something I’m not going to talk about very much right now (because it might not ever see the light of day even!), but we just want to give you guys a tiny heads up.
We’ve had an idea to make pedalboards a whole lot neater, but it’ll need a whole lot of research and talking to different people because it’s a really new idea.
Won’t tell you what it is here, because what we have in mind is a secret, but hey, if it seems like we’re a bit inactive on social media and the website and all, it doesn’t mean we’re dead - we’re just working on this really exciting thingy!
